Just a lil B-Ball

Yesterday morning we woke up, ate some cereal, watched a little TV, and then I was let in on a pre-planned agenda Chi and Justin had. Apparently we were taking a walk down to the park to play some basketball. (How I never overheard this conversation or how it was never mentioned out of Chi's mouth to me is still a mystery.) Either way I was happy to join in.


So I grabbed Diesel's leash and out the door we all headed. It was such a beautiful day out and I enjoyed the 3-4 block walk up to the park. Plus the scenery is gorgeous. A perfect view of the Red Rock Mountains was in plain sight.

Once we arrived, the boys headed straight to the hoops and I decided to stroll around and check out what this park had to offer. It has a jungle gym play area, a water play area, a volley ball court, a basketball court, two baseball fields, a huge meadow that could be used for soccer, and a small desert area with a track to be used for racing remote controlled cars or trucks. This park was GREAT! I immediately started planning Chi's birthday party here in my head.

So then I made my way back to the basketball court where the boys were running around, laughing, and shooting hoops. I decided I wanted in on the action, tied Diesel up, and joined the fun.

What an awesome morning.

The Boys are Bonding

Since Chi's been on restriction he's been quite the creative lil man on finding other ways to have fun. I know he's supposed to be miserable but I just couldn't stop the family bonding I was witnessing and just sat back and smiled.
Last night Chi and Justin had a great time playing hide and seek. Chi would count to 20 as fast as he could while Justin scrambled to find a place to hide. Then once Chi found Justin in a not too hard place they would switch. Then Justin would count to 20 nice and slow while Chi went off to find a great spot.
However Chi would grow so impatient from Justin's slow counting and searching that he would come out from his hiding spot and ask Justin why he was taking so long. It was great.
Then today after I returned home from running a few errands, Chi and Justin were playing a combo of cops & robbers, cowboys & indians, and soldiers. They were running around the house hiding behind walls, shooting each other with their 'hand guns' and throwing make believe grenades at each other.
Justin must have explained that it takes about 10 seconds for a grenade to explode because after either of them would throw one Chi would count to ten while running far away from the grenades landing spot.
Again, I just stood back and smiled. I am so incredibly happy with my lil family.

All Moved In

Well it's official. Malachi and I are moved in with Justin and it's amazing. It feels very surreal yet really natural.
A huge thank you to my mother, her friend Z, Yelena, Jayke, and of course my honey Justin for all of your hard work moving me. And we made it in one trip!
After we dumped everything off at the house I took everyone out for lunch. Then Justin, Chi and I headed back to the house to start putting things in order. Malachi's room was our priority and it didn't take long before we were done.
There are still a couple boxes laying around waiting for a proper place and there are still some items at my place that need to make their way over but for the most part we are all moved in.
I think I speak on behalf of all of us when I say, we couldn't be happier.

Joining Lives

After 3 years, up and downs, and endless love... Justin and I decided to live together. Chi and I are going to move into Justin's house. It's a bit bigger and in my opinion nicer than mine. We are going to rent my house. Hopefully I will be able to get someone into the house sooner than later.
So for the last three days I have been packing non-stop. Packing and moving are one of my most least desired things to do BUT I know that it will all be worth it in the end.
Malachi has been a tremendous helper. Last night he packed up all of his books, movies, and toys. He even helped me with the linen closet. Chi is very excited to be moving to Justin's house and so am I.

VACATION!!!!! WHOO HOO!!!

Justin, Malachi, and I headed to San Diego Thursday morning for our mini vacation. We arrived at our hotel around noon and headed straight for the beach. The weather wasn't all that great, but I promised Malachi that he would get to see the ocean and build a sand castle.

On Friday, we got up and headed to Sea World. Our first stop was the Shamu show of course.

Then after the Shamu show, we walked through the carnival area. Justin decided that he wanted to play a few games. The first he picked was where you toss a little ring at several bottles and try to get it around the neck of the bottle. An entire bucket of rings was $5 and believe it or not, Justin landed one on his fourth try!!! And the prize......

Justin won a enormous Shamu for Chi. Now of course he had to do this at the beginning of the day. We were stuck carrying this thing around for the remainder of the day, which was not an easy task. We definitely got a lot of attention and even got cash offers for the Shamu.

After Shamu, we found ourselves at the sea lions and seals. I found this to be the most entertaining of the whole day. You were allowed to buy fish and hand feed them. They would bark and beg to you for the fish.

This little guy was smart. He perched himself up on this rock and screamed at you as he waved his flipper to get your attention. I think he figured out that the most loud and annoying one would get the most fish. He was definitely well fed.

We caught a glimpse of a few sea turtles. It would have been nice if we could have got a little closer though.

Then we made our way to the dolphins. Chi was trying really hard to get them to swim close enough so that he could touch them. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful.

But he did get pretty close as they swam by the tank. He loved it.

Then we saw the flamingos. There were hundreds of them. They had a jar you could buy flamingo food from for 50cents. I think it was dog food, it sure smelt like it.

After a wonderful fun day at Sea World, we headed about a hour north to my father's house. Chi got some good quality time in with his uncle Alex.

Saturday morning was the oldest of my three brothers, Jack's graduation from High School. His next journey... UC Davis.

This morning we packed up and got ready for our drive home. My father took us out to breakfast before we took off. Chi and he enjoyed making silly faces and playing with each other in their last minutes until next time.

We all had an absolute wonderful time. I was great to get away for a few days. Although, I am happy to be back home and I can't wait to sleep in my bed tonight.

Walk for a Cure 2009

May 2nd was the Walk for a Cure. Chi and I met the rest of the team at the office at 630am for coffee, juice, and bagels before we headed out on our 3k walk. Malachi was so excited to "race" and to be a "winner". We explained to him that everyone is a winner in this race.

First the timed runners started. It seemed as if they never ended. They kept going and going and going. There were so many of them. It was really emotional to see all the people come out and support such a hard topic of discussion. PLUS, everyone that was wearing a pink t-shirt was a cancer survivor, and seeing them brought a tear and a smile to your face. I felt honored to participate in such an event.
